"The earliest published edition of the New Testament in Greek. The earliest printed edition was that given in the Complutensian Polyglot ... In critical value Erasmus' text is inferior to the Complutensian: yet ... it obtained a much wider circulation, and exercised a far greater influence ... Reuss enumerates 347 passages in which this first edition of Erasmus differs from the Complutensian text ... The Greek text is accompanied by a Latin translation and an appended commentary" (D. & M.).
